Amy + Sean at Grittleton House | April 2026
“It was absolutely beautiful Sarah. So many people said afterwards that it was the most personal ceremony they had heard.”
Grittleton House blew me away from the moment I stepped down the impressive driveway. Then past the stone entrance, the framed art, huge staircase, organ…and into the bridal suite to check on Amy. And then Amy’s two bridesmaids blew me away even more!
I’m not sure I’ve ever met two more wonderful, supportive bridesmaids; one - Dixie - made a tray of every possible bit-or-bob her dear friend The Bride might need (plasters, pills, perfume) and one - Joanne - had spent many weeks crafting a beautiful, heartfelt tribute to her best friend which she read in the ceremony. In one part, Joanne talked about how, with Amy and Sean, “…it’s clear that you don’t just love each other - you truly like one another too.” The recipe that a loving, lasting marriage needs. Which Amy and Sean have in spades - often off having fun together at gigs and festivals.
The romantic love is something to behold on a wedding day, that’s definitely the main stage act. But I also love to see how friends and family show up and celebrate. The tears, the tributes, the countless little tasks done in love.

When it came to the ceremony, Amy met her sweet mum Laura at the bottom of the grand staircase so they could have a moment together. When Laura came in to take her place, before the music and the bridal party, she had visible tears in her eyes and she set us all off!
Then I forgot to ask everyone to stand - props to photographer Matt Willis who whispered to me “does everyone need to stand?”. Yes Matt, yes they do. I was preoccupied with all the soppiness and loveliness and momentarily forgot the logistics.
Nothing better than getting photos back with evidence of people laughing at your jokes
Sean is a tall man, but a gentle, calm lovely one too. Some of the biggest laughs of the ceremony were referring to him as a BFG, and loved ones chuckling in recognition at the supersize things Amy would find in his house when they first started dating.
Each mug would be the size of those infamous Sports Direct mugs. His go-to water glass wouldn’t have looked out of place at an Oktoberfest. In his fridge you’d discover a giant butter and think “He's one man! And he lives alone? How can he get through that amount of butter?”.
There was a gorgeous blend of humour and sincerity in Amy and Sean’s nuptials; they are sincere in their love for each other - and everyone in their orbit loves them back - but they will happily have the p*ss taken out of them. And that’s always a fun blend. Jokes and the lightest of wedding-day roasting, underpinned with absolute adoration.
I knew I liked them when we first met for an all-you-can-eat Thai buffet
