Laurie + Glen at Hallington Mill | June 2026

“...you made the bit we were most nervous about feel so true to us and relaxed.”
— Laurie, bride

There was a real sweetness to Laurie and Glen’s wedding day at Hallington Mill. They are animal-lovers, childhood sweethearts and two beautifully authentic souls. And their day carried that lovely energy, from a ceremony in dappled woodland to Sylvanian family figures on their wedding cake, and from a duo playing strings to their dog Wren’s harness in a buttery yellow to match the bridesmaid dresses. It was a delicate, delicious June occasion.

Nothing better than seeing my couples laughing, relaxing and ENJOYING their wedding!

And Laurie’s exquisite dress had that delicate, dream-like quality too. I was GIDDY about her dress.

The woodland clearing at Hallington was the perfect place for Laurie and Glen, and their relaxed, outdoorsy nature. Relaxed and outdoorsy…but with a definite touch of summer magic. Jane from Birdcages and Dragonflies was on hand to create the gorgeous set-up.

Sweet moment with her dad

So it was a sweet ceremony, but a funny one too. One part I’ll never forget is getting my names mixed up so when I was telling the story of Laurie falling in love with Glen - watching him be such a great big brother to Kyle - I accidentally said Laurie had fallen head-over-heels in love with Kyle. You could tell from his face that was the first time he was hearing that bit of information!

I don’t mind little mistakes when they add to the proceedings, and we were all in stitches.

In the ceremony I also drew the guests’ attention to a box that would be available through the reception: Laurie and Glen wanting their loved ones to write little letters - notes of encouragement, marriage advice and wedding day memories - and place them in there. A box that would be opened on their first anniversary.

The string duo played the entrance and exit music but we also paused for a musical interlude during the ceremony, an instrumental rendition of one of Laurie’s favourite songs by one of Laurie’s favourite artists: Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful.

Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful?

And, of course, the answer was yes. They made promises to choose each other every day, celebrate each other’s successes, be supportive through whatever lies ahead, and to love each other. Always.

Not just at this gorgeous age, but every gorgeous age to come. More love, more respect, and more shared history with every passing year.

“Glen says he didn’t get a chance to catch you to say how pleased he is that we chose you to be our celebrant”
